Annual Report to Parents from the Governing Body.       Report

As we move in to the second half of the term, I would like to remind you of the importance of school attendance and our commitment to all pupils. We ask all parents to set the highest expectations for attendance for the term and the year ahead
Our target for your child is a minimum of 96% attendance this year
A copy of a table and chart illustrating the relationship between attendance and achievement at school is attached.
Rewards for good attendance are clear. Pupils are more likely to enjoy school, achieve better results and benefit from increased life chances. I will be updating you about your child’s attendance on a half termly basis.
Can I remind you that if you choose to take your child out of school for a holiday/birthday/visit, then the absence will be recorded as ‘unauthorised.’ There are rumours that parents can be fined for this and I wish to reassure you that whilst this is occurring in some English schools, it does not apply in Wales! However, please do not expect your child’s teacher to provide you with work if you take your child out of school.
